Getting started with Kosmos

User’s dedicated DevSpaces

Kosmos does not provide a “Default” DevSpaces shared by all users. Instead, each Kosmos User has a dedicated DevSpaces, and the user is granted the “DevSpaces Admin” permission for it. The “DevSpaces Admin” permission allows the user to:

  • Edit properties of the DevSpaces.
  • Add other members.
  • Provision new virtual Kubernetes clusters.

DevSpaces quota

All Kosmos DevSpaces have quota limits. You can share the physical clusters provided by Kosmos with all Kosmos Users for your development workloads. If you need additional resources for your DevSpaces, you can request to increase your DevSpaces quota by contacting a Kosmos Operator.

Limited permission for DevSpaces admin

All Kosmos DevSpacess are owned by Kosmos Operator members. A Kosmos User with DevSpaces Admin permissions has limited capabilities to manage:

  • Members: Control who can participate in the DevSpaces.
  • Allowed Templates: Specify templates available for use within the DevSpaces.

Shared physical clusters with Samsung’s security policy

Kosmos provides shared physical clusters to run your vcluster. These development-purpose clusters adhere to Samsung’s security policies for Kubernetes clusters on each CSP (Cloud Service Provider).

Predefined app installation template for Kuma / Wallarm

Kosmos offers predefined app installation templates for applications like Kuma and Wallarm. More applications will be available in the future. After creating a virtual cluster, you can click to install one of the available apps.

You can access the Kosmos Console only from approved sites within the allowed IP pool for accessing SPC services.
